In December of that year, the remaining unsold stock (274 packages) was seized by district police under orders from the chief sanitary physician. Causes cited: nausea, nasal hemorrhaging, and recurring auditory hallucinations among press workers and early purchasers. Warehouse paper stocks turned damp, developing a black coating with a pungent odor of stagnant water.
The confiscated books were burned in the municipal hospital boiler facility. Printing plates were shattered. Distribution of the text is prohibited.
